Rivertree Farmstay in Wayanad should be added to your bucket list. I came across this place in Airbnb and just fell in love with the idea of staying in a Treehouse. I visited this place for my birthday and was sure delighted.
I started off my journey from Bangalore at the dawn and reached here around 1:00 p.m. Kerala is God’s own country for a reason. The drive to Wayanad itself is picturesque. Rivertree is located in the lush green plantation of spices, fruits, and whatnot. Mr. Ajesh owns this place and is a super host. We were welcomed with freshly plucked passion fruit juice, the most delicious I ever had. I absolutely loved the treehouse surrounded by plantation, a river flowing beside, the view of mountains amidst the sweet song of nature.
Well, staying comes here with fun activities. We trekked from paddy plantation to a hilltop for the surreal sunset view. There is an air rifle shooting, in which I didn’t miss my target. A river stream follows beside the treehouse where you can enjoy the bamboo boating. There are many varieties of birds on the farm as well. The essence of Treehouse got more real with an actual tree inside my room. The surrounding is serene and breathtaking.
The food here deserves a special mention. The breakfast and lunch are served in the midst of coffee and pepper plantation. I savored upon the yummiest authentic Kerala cuisines from mom’s kitchen. The pictures attached do no justice to the taste. They serve a homemade spiced coffee, one of a kind and I had it for the first time, it sure can beat the ones in Starbucks. It was so savory, I ended up buying some for myself, in fact, I’m sipping it as I write this. The dinner was another happy meal, with so many dishes spread out on my table and served on earthen utensils. I totally loved the fish, marinated, wrapped and cooked in banana leaf. Being a food blogger I enjoy the stays which offer exceptional food.
It was an amazing experience for us to stay at Rivertree, Mr. Ajesh has been a wonderful host and definitely has raised the bar for hospitality. His entire family is very courteous and together makes sure you get a homely stay. I can’t wait to go back here for a longer duration. The reservations had to be made well in advance, no wonder this place is always reserved!
