Cafe des Arts is built in a more than 100 years old colonial mansion in white town, Puducherry. This place is owned by a beautiful lady. Your trip to Puducherry is surely half-done without paying a visit to this cafe or at least capturing all possible insane pictures in front of its yellow walls. This place was the first thing on my checklist while visiting Puducherry.
They serve some authentic French delicacies. I couldn’t order much since I had to explore many more eat outs. I had a French baguette with garniture and a cappuccino to kick start my day. The prices are very nominal here as compare to other cafes in the neighborhood. I didn’t find the baguette fresh and it tasted very ordinary. I didn’t find an “Oh-so-amazing” factor in their food. Their service is super slow. One thing I liked about this place is; they allow you to sit wherever you want (I grabbed a table for four even though I needed just for one, without any interfere).
Pay this place a visit for “I’ve been there” feeling. They have kept antique objects to add up to its ambiance, some good books to read and have a perfect playlist to keep your mood lively. A small section of the cafe is dedicated to an in-house shop for apparels and accessories, the prices are a bit on the higher side though.
